It’s time for life updates! I sure got you with that title, didn’t I? Mwa ha ha, it’s actually not that drastic. clickbait alert NO I promise it’s not clickbait! Oh gosh. Let’s just get to it already.
I dyed part of my hair pink! Well, not very pink but it’s visible. *coughs* I’m sorry guys, I apparently can’t speak today. There’s a story behind this, however, so you’ll have to bear through my stumbling a bit longer.
I’m not exactly sure why I wanted to dye my ends – something different, something fun, I guess. I didn’t want anything too bright or drastic, and my mom would never have gone for it. The only way my parents agreed to let me was if I used semi-permanent dye, the type that washes out after a few shampoos. And if I’m being honest, I didn’t want to make a mistake and have to go all summer and *gasp* all of Csehy with messed up hair, so that’s that. I got some light pink dye, a kind of cotton candy color; sure I have a bit darker blonde hair, but ya know, it’ll probably work. Probably.
We got home from Target and I immediately wanted to try it! I’ve learned that dying hair isn’t actually that hard, but you have to put enough in *cough* and you have to have light hair. I don’t have extremely light hair, but I did it anyway. I had to apply it twice; the first time the dye barely showed up and I was very disappointed. Thankfully, after applying it again, waiting another 30 minutes, rinsing it out, and drying my hair again I had semi-pink. Well… it’s a bit more red than pink but at least it’s semi-visible!
Yay! Now that I think about it, it’s somewhat of a rose gold. I like rose gold.
Alright, next! The other day we had the sprinkler going, and tor me, water droplets are mesmerizing. They’re even better when you can get pictures of them! Because what photographer can resist moving water? I can’t!
Water is SO cool in drops – I’m really happy with how these turned out.
Next smol photoshoot – I took some pics of my sister! She normally refuses to be photographed by me but that day was different, I suppose. I like taking pictures of her, and I also love her freckles ;D
Yay! I’m very happy with the way they turned out.
Next up, the baby oriole.
Last night I was calling my friends when I saw a baby bird that couldn’t walk! I saw an adult oriole flying near it and assumed that the bird was the baby’s mother. The baby bird flapped itself across the grass and got stuck in some branches; I carefully picked it up and took a look at its feet, and they were all knarled! The talons were all bent in weird directions and its legs were not looking great either. I put it down in the yard in front of our door and watched it for an hour; the mama swooped down a few times but never did anything. After a while, we decided to put it in a box with some paper towels and we used a chopstick/toothpick to feed it some grape jelly.
In the morning I went and asked my neighbor what to do with it since she knows a lot about orioles. She said that the mama will come back even if a human has touched it, so I set the bird on the grass again and left it. It was still there after lunch, but the mama had come to it a few times so I think it’ll be ok! (I hope so 😦 )
I know that was a ton of pictures, but I hope they were enjoyable nonetheless. I’m getting SOO excited for Csehy – 10 days left! (oops I haven’t started packing yet)
I’m sorry I forgot to post on Tuesday – I was going to post this but I never got around to finishing it. I’m probably going to only do one post next week too, because we’re so busy, and after that, I’ll be away for 2 weeks! I probably won’t post the week after that, though, because after Csehy I literally hate everything and everyone except for Csehy and Csehy people. Sorry guys, I still love you!!!!!!
See ya on Tuesday – or Thursday! Bye 🙂
